B&T Orchards Ltd. and M&M Orchards Ltd.: Grape harvest

History

Malcolm Mitchell’s mothers family moved to Winfield BC in 1918. They purchased a ten acre lot from the Okanagan Land Company between 1929 and 1939. Grandma and Grandpa Mitchell purchased 2 more ten acre lots, one ten acre parcel from Jack Seaton and another ten acre parcel from Dr. Alan Sean. They continued to farm the 30 acres until 1968 when Malcolm and Margret Mitchell purchased the lot that their house is built on today. In 1972 Grandma and Grandpa Mitchell retired and Malcolm and Margret Mitchell purchased the two remaining 10 acre lots. They farmed the entire property until Mike and Sherry Mitchell purchased the most northern of the 3 lots from Malcolm and Margret Mitchell in 2006. Malcolm and Margret still farm their remaining 20 acres today.
